These domains can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other titles people are popular by. At the beginning, solely 3rd-level registrations were permitted, so if you desired to book john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and second-level registrations were also permitted. Already bought 3rd-level domains remained online.
